list of small things I like
- lying in bed in the winter with my feet on a heating pad. Reading or journaling.
- both pets (molly and moon) wanting to cuddle at the same time. snow white mode.
- moon (cat) trying to help with a project
- tea/coffee in the brief window of being the perfect temperature
- the low sun in the morning or evening that makes everything glow
- shifting leafy shadows— especially on a cloudy window or the bright, flat plane of a building
- the way leaves and branches move in wind
- when air is cool and crisp and breathing it feels like drinking water
- plants growing where they weren’t planted
- signs of wear on public surfaces that tell you the manner in which hundreds/thousands/millions of people have passed through. like wrinkles on a face
- wrinkles on my face
- peeling an orange in one piece
- washing my face and eyes with cold water after crying. Rising to the mirror looking bright. fresh. damp and remade
- lipstick stains on a cigarette
- a flat, wet, grey day
- when the moon is so low in the sky it looks ginormous. a cheese. an orange. a pizza pie. big, soft, juicy, and impending
- when something from the sky (leaf, twig, fluffy seed) lands on my head
- ants in action
- guessing right
- a day that’s hot when I’m by water that’s cold
- being out and about when no one else is (early morning, late night, notable weather)
- saying something at the same time as someone else
- brushing hands
- dancing in a dark room
- sitting in my hot car. sauna. lizard mode. red and sweaty and relaxed.
- a day where I have no plans
- seeing a lot of people I like together in one place
- eavesdropping
